For this solo exhibition, I started to obsessively reproduce tomettes tiles, typically found in houses in Marseille and Provence. They represent a certain lifestyle together with an attachment to traditions and became highly valuable over the past decades. The handmade tiles, bearing certain slogans and texts, become a floor to look at and in an absurd attempt, they question what makes a home a home. The texts on the walls are what I call advertisement-poems, inspired by catch phrases from food delivery companies or work-at-home slogans. The vertical blinds, typically known in offices, are painted reproducing my Maastricht studio light reflections and shades.The empty apartment reveals its different uses throughout time, until now, being an art project space. It is the context of the show while at the same time becoming fully part of the work.
